40 percent of New York City's high school students are not graduating on time.
The schools we support get straight A's.
Robin Hood helped start 3 of the 4 most effective charter schools in New York. We're not an organization that funds and runs. We work closely with our grant recipients and together reach for the highest standards. We've learned that when a school gets that kind of support, it gets high marks. And so do its students.

Meet William
William is a fourth grader at Excellence Charter School of Bedford Stuyvesant, a boys school built by and supported by Robin Hood. Ninety-seven percent of his class scored at or above grade level on the state reading exam, compared to 55 percent in the surrounding district. Every single boy in his class scored at or above grade level in math, compared to less than 75 percent in the surrounding district. These outstanding results don't come from "skimming" off the best students. Admission is by lottery. William wants to attend Oberlin or Columbia, and then work as a football player, a comedian and a scientist. We bet he will.
