1.3 million New Yorkers rely on emergency food.
In 2009, One New York bank will desperately need a bailout.
The Food Bank.
Robin Hood is the largest single supporter of The Food Bank For New York City. The "Bank" supplies more than 1,000 pantries and soup kitchens in all 5 boroughs. They are all experiencing a surge in demand and decreases in supply. This year, we will have to work harder than ever to ensure that the hungry of New York don't break the bank.

Meet Cheyanne
Cheyanne just turned five years old. She celebrated her birthday at Part of the Solution (POTS), a Robin Hood-supported soup kitchen in the Bronx that she affectionately calls "the diner." Cheyanne and her mother Linda moved to New York City from Nebraska when Linda, a survivor of domestic violence, found work as a nanny, but the job didn't last. Without POTS, there wouldn't have been enough money to pay the rent. Robin Hood recently helped the family obtain a Section 8 housing voucher, enabling them to escape a neighborhood where the echo of gunshots was frequently heard.
